Location: Business in the 3400blk Main Ave S, Brookings

On the above date and time, the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office, Brookings Fire Department, Brookings Ambulance, Aurora Fire Department and Volga Fire Department were dispatched to a fire. Upon arrival, crews discovered a trash fire had left its containment and spread to a large pile of tires. After engulfing the tires, the fire spread to several parked vehicles causing significant damage. Prussman Contracting responded to the scene with an excavator and assisted with efforts. Novita Nutrition offered additional fire suppression supplies to also assist the fire departments. After some time, the fire was extinguished. The total extent of the damage from this fire remains unknown at this time. This incident remains under investigation by the Brookings County Sheriff’s Office.
