Brookings Area Mental Health Guide Now Available

The Brookings Mental Health Task Force is excited to announce the Brookings Area Mental Health Guide is available through 211 Helpline Center. Individuals are able to access information for all local mental health resources by calling 211 or texting your zip code to 898211. Access is also available at http://www.helplinecenter.org/brookingsareamentalhealthguide/. The Brookings Area Mental Health Guide helps people identify and select licensed and credentialed practitioners and agencies who service our community. The guide is produced as an initiative of the Mental Health Task Force and is funded by the City of Brookings and Brookings County.

The City of Brookings, Brookings County, and the Brookings School District have a long history of collaboration and cooperation, and are committed to a high quality of life for all.  The purpose of the Mental Health Task Force is to complete a comprehensive needs assessment, create a roadmap of services currently available to the mentally ill, and to propose improvements to the current services available to people with mental health issues in our community.

If you are a service provider within Brookings County and would like to include your local service or program within the listing, please contact Task Force Co-chair Nikki Eining at (605) 692-8092 or nikki.eining@avera.org.  For more information on the Brookings Mental Health Task Force, please visit City of Brookings website at http://www.cityofbrookings.org/index.aspx?NID=505 or contact Shari Thornes, (605) 692-6281, sthornes@cityofbrookings.org.
