Women, Infant and Children (WIC)


A supplemental nutrition program funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 

WIC provides:
  • Nutrition Education and Counseling
  • Breastfeeding support and education
  • Healthy food options based on individual needs
  • Referrals to local resources
Who can be on WIC:
  • Pregnant women
  • Post-partum women
  • Infants and children up to the age of 5
An applicant must:
  • Be a South Dakota resident
  • Nutrition or health risk which is determined at a WIC appointment
  • Meet income guidelines

  • Who are 18 years of age and younger
  • Private insurance, Medicaid and no insurance
  • Flu vaccines: available for anyone 6 months of age and older
